dinner with HJP - Part 2 Venue: Imperial Treasure Teochew Kitchen @ Suntec drop by for dinner on HJP birthday. usually, i went there to satisfy my chinese ramen cravings. but for a change in tastebuds, we decided to order the ala cartes. a wise choice indeed. tsk tsk. drunken chicken. HJP fave har cheong kai (i ate only 1 piece) a combination of my faves! Tofu with stuffed spinach & seafood gravy. a dish which i dun feel sinful eating even after finishing the whole plate my all time fave noodle - fried ee fu mee. this was only so so. other than ramen, the Tofu with stuffed spinach makes me wanting to come back for more. price is reasonable with decent food. i'll be back!
dinner with HJP - Part 1 HJP mentioned 1 day that he missed the posts on meals which we had together. cos usually i'll blog abt it after each meal. this signifies 1 thing. it has been the long time since he gave me a good treat =P anyway, dropped by city sq eco mall during one of the sundays. it's the 2nd time in my life walking along the streets of little india. . hahahaha.. really alot of ah nehs (废话. little india 没有 ah nehs, 还有谁) dinner at Uncle Sam's claypot. ordered spare ribs claypot rice/ watercress soup (my fave!)/ otah/ breaded prawns. we also tried 贡茶 located at B1 (if i rem correctly). very nice! it allows you to choose the degree of sweetness. i had lemon roasted melon tea. melon tea with a zest of lemon. REFRESHING!
オレオチーズケーキfor hjp & momo in view of the 2 special occasions for mom & hjp, i decided to make oreo cheesecake. result turn out to be not too bad. i like the colour for momo's 1 cos it looks more appealing than HJP. mixture of oreo & julie's biscuits for the base momo's cheesecake hjp's cheesecake (with lots of biscuits) hjp posing for his cake. end note: instead of using a springform pan, i used a round aluminmum mould with aluminmum foil lining inside (with extra 5cm out of the mould). this is to assist in removing the cake from the mould after it sets into the shape. the best part is, you can re-use the mould till its out of shape ;) a cheap & easy method.
yep! i had finished my notes for tml "coffee with steve" meeting. finally my turn came.. which i dread the most.. cos i hate this kind of meeting. btw, i had conquered both ブザー・ ビート & コード・ブルー ytd. Yamashita Tomohisa is damn suave in ブザー・ ビート. awwww!!! can't resist his charm (just as i can't resist Takeshi) peehee next drama in line will be either Tokyo Dogs or Liar Game 2.
dinner with both carriers was a great experience. both of them are really kind enough to bring us gifts. esp the taiwanese which they have left their office earlier to get 蛋黄饼 & individual gifts for us. for a person who do not really like mooncake with egg yolk, i would say the 蛋黄饼 was really nice as the sweetness & saltness compliments very well. L`occitane from EMC the koreans also comes with their corporate gift which is a scarf. can use it to accessorise some of my bags (o.o)v they had also brought us their newly built vessel model [din took a pic of it] very beautiful!
my bonus & increment are in! at least i could do some shopping this month which i'm dying to... the rest of the money will still need to feed into my "poggy" bank for a higher purpose.. kns !?! everything needs $$ on leave today to meet up with xx for revision.. i'm looking forward this week to end soon! its so torturing to anticipate what will be test questions like.. i hope i won't flung. if not my moral will be ........ kinda looking forward to next wk too. cos my fave carrier is in town! in fact 2 carriers will in. but 1 of them always went into hibernation mode. hopefully, this meeting will help to bridge the gap. gtg to prepare for my test. wish my luck!
An email from my counterpart today has really make my day! i finally felt that i'm being appreciated & my efforts pay off. Dealing with the Eastern Europeans was a damn chanlleging task [ever since i took up this task a year ago]. . they are one the "bluntest" creatures on earth which words cannot be taken seriously. if not, high blood pressure will be knocking on your door in no time. i almost teared when i told rose & eva abt it. the job satisfaction has rekindled my passion again ;)
Lunch at Liang Court Hjp & i decided to drop by Liang Court for lunch one sunday after church. our lunch was at the basement 1 (near Meidi-ya supermarket). we bought ourselves a salmon sashimi & chicken don each. as this place is catered to the japanese, the salmon is much more fresh than other supermarts & the rice of the chicken don is very up to standard (粒粒分明) shall go back again. cheaper than resturant's price but a little pricey than a normal meal. its worth it.
Bintan Retreat [24 Mar - 26 Mar] paveway to comfy bed my room is at ground floor which i need to keep the shades closed most of the time other parts of the resort pool looking over the sea. but i forgot to bring my swimming gear pool bar coconut trees 空 sun was blazing hot. & thank goodness i brougnt my laniege eye mate- it's a sunblock for eyes. got it from korea with the help of es (SIN laniege has not brought in). a must buy as it's non greasy & easily being absorbed into the skin. dejected hjp still looking dejected even i asked for a photo together while waiting for sunset. but can't see any due to cloudy day. as the night falls . . . last but not least. . . me & hjp
legging craze Uniqlo is having leggings sale & i had bought 3. . hjp said that i do not need so many pairs since i only had 1 pair of legs. my theory to him was. . . i also own alot pair of shoes. muahahahaha. . . anyway i guess i'll be wearing leggings more often than jeans. plus it goes well with almost every piece of clothes.
the long awaited appraisal was finally done with boss last wk. i was so "gan chiong" that i messed up "my speech" which i recited in my mind for the longest time. cos i never expected i was the one to start the ball rolling. it was a nice gesture of her cos, she listens to us before commenting. anyway, i had pass my main msg across. so hopefully [keeping fingers crossed], it will turn out to be positive. boss commented that i had the potiential & will take the lead together with joanne to sharpen my negotiation skills. yup, joanne & boss are really nice ladies. though i had make numerous careless mistakes, i did not get a single scolding. instead, they encouraged that i shouldn't took things too hard [yes i really did. i could get so moody for the rest of the wk for just a single mistake]. good news: there will be bonus bad news: there might be no GRI
Vsl tour 26 Jan - Maersk Charlotte we were being cordinally invited by Maersk to their vsl. this was the 3rd time been to PSA. 2nd time on board a vsl. 1st time going to pasir panjang (PPT). previously was at tanjong pagar (TPT). it wasn't a large one - 6000 plus teus. i wish i could on board its largest 1 though. but Emma maersk is no longer the largest. anyway it was another eye-opener for me ;) panorama shot from the vsl down. it was less busier than TPT. perhaps due to the economy. loading & unloading in progress clip of the unloading process designated "parking lots" with crane for containers containers (DC/RF) awaiting for loading saw that terrible dent. wonder how much does the insurance co needs to pay out the blue vsl is the 1 we are going to board. getting closer. . . and finally we reached. staircase up to vsl. coming sown was a little challenging cos my feet were cramped before i reached the ground. listening to the Captain attentively. he was a Danish. gr...
