The HAEP i attended was drawn to a closure after 9 months. very mixed feelings throughout this period. many times, i was wondering what on earth i got myself stuck in this program when i had my daily job to do. the 3 wks in YMCA (1 wk per module) is enough to speed up my aging process by x100. mentally & physically drained. i have to admit it,i dread even at the point of checking into YMCA in the last module. questioning myself again, what on earth am i doing this. will i ever get a promotion aft this program (which many have asked). what transformation could i really see in myself??
however, it was later that i realised, i had a fantastic group in my project. no matter, how demanding the sponser of the project was, our group is always on the ball & sync to get the results. in fact, out of the 4 groups, my group was the most fortunate. during the wk, we only required to sharpen our ppt whereas others are still stuck in the research process. we are the earliest group to hit the bed. our latest record was 2.30am which compared to the highest record of another group - 6am. and we also have lessons every day at 9am each day. during this wk, i couldn't felt much pressure as compared to the other groups as we are near 80% done.
the first 3 days were lessons of conflict mgt & impactful prespentations. had reap the most from the prespentation skills. it was indeed diff from what we had learnt in sch. dry runs with Q&A and feedback for the next 2 days to further sharpen our slides. i'm really proud to say, my group was so sync that even we did a lousy dry run by ourselves, everyone compliments how good on our transistion of slides.
the last day of the program was to present our project to the panel of CEO/CFO/COO & the project sponsers. this was the 1st time that all of them are present which was quite an honour to us. my group was the 1st to present. handshaking with the panels indeed reduce the anxiety within us. as we are the 1st, we do not have the time to be nervous, cos before we knew, we were up there presenting. and this i have to say, this was the 1st time ever, i felt so relaxed & enjoying thewhole presenting process. i did a small joke which ease the tension & got the luck that CEO was smiling when i did eye contact. others were complaining, he look stern..
overall, it did boost my confidence up to another level. i do not feel nervous when presenting to the highest mgt, what's more to the others?
p/s: photos will be up soon.
